Powerful
Voice Sings Out on Debut CD
No Secret
Anymore
With a versatile
and potent voice, Kelly Wright sparkles on her debut CD, No Secret
Anymore. Produced by Seattle singer/ songwriter/ comedian Lisa Koch (Dos
Fallopia, Venus Envy, Jamie Anderson) with arrangements by conductor/
composer Jim Knapp (Jim Knapp Orchestra, Jay Clayton/Jim Knapp
Collective) and featuring performances by pianist Julie Wolf (Ani
Difranco, Dar Williams, Bill Frisell) and jazz vibraphonist Susan Pascal
(Susan Pascal Trio, Greta Matassa, Orville Johnson).
Born and raised in the Detroit area, Kelly was first heard singing radio
jingles for several local businesses while working in radio as a
newscaster and show host. In 1994, her travels took her to Seattle where
she continued in radio and also hooked up with The Washingtonians!, a
now defunct 80 member group known as ‘the choir with a sense of
humor’, led by Scott Warrender (Das Barbeque, The Lion King: Simba’s
Pride, Texas Chainsaw Manicurist). Kelly became a featured performer
with the Washingtonians! playing to sold out shows at several Seattle
venues. Kelly is also an established voice-over artist in commercials
and computer games with clients like Microsoft (Teletubbies, Appvisor),
Sierra Entertainment (Tribes, Hoyle Casino Empire) and Humongous
(Backyard Football, Pajama Sam, Freddy Fish). Kelly’s CD release comes
on the heels of her recent debut at Seattle’s ACT Theater in the world
premier of HappyPants!, a new musical written by Scott Warrender.
